Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 983

Chloe didn't dodge the question.

She replied honestly, "I've forgotten everything, including the love I had for your dad. We're friends and family now, but not lovers anymore."

When Chloe came to, she couldn't remember a thing. She couldn't even speak or recognize the person standing in front of her. Yet, her instincts were still sharp. She felt like a wild creature that had wandered straight out of the woods into the human world.

Lucas had to teach her everything from scratch. It took her six months to get the hang of living in human society and interacting with people. During that time, she was on edge around everyone, even Aaron when she first met him. There was always this nagging feeling of insecurity.

It took her over a year to fully settle into her new life. During that year, she opened a little flower shop and kept herself busy learning new things and exploring different areas. Her mind was like a fresh canvas-just one drop of ink would spread and remind her of many things, like painting or dancing. Even though she'd forgotten them, her muscle memory was still there. Everything she picked up, she learned quickly.

Chloe felt like her brain was constantly flooded with information, but there was always a wall she couldn't break through. She couldn't remember the people or events from her past, and that really bugged her.

According to Grayson, they originally lived in Country A. They were childhood sweethearts who got married right after college. But after they tied the knot, she was harassed by a bully, which led to a series of unfortunate events. A car accident eventually caused her memory loss, and they had to escape to France, living under new identities.

She had asked Grayson about their past and the bully who pushed them to such lengths, but he never spilled the beans. Chloe noticed he was really reluctant to talk about their past and didn't even tell her their real names or anything about their life back in Country A. He also wasn't keen on her learning ancient French.

Grayson had changed his citizenship and was planning to settle in France for good. His job there was alright not particularly high-paying, but enough for the three of them to live comfortably without worrying about the basics. They'd go to spas or travel during holidays. They'd visited many countries, but never Country A.

The more they avoided it, the more curious Chloe became about her past and Country A. She recently started learning ancient French on the sly but didn't tell Lucas because he was dead set against her poking around in all that. Still, Chloe couldn't resist the allure of Country A's language and culture. It felt like

something was pulling her in, urging

her to dig deeper.

Summer, with a serious expression, asked, "Mom, will you and Dad ever fall in love again?"

Chloe bent down and tapped Summer's nose. "That's not something little kids should worry about."

Summer scrunched up his nose and said, "I'm not a little kid; I'm already five."

Chloe laughed. Her son, with his straightforward nature, always seemed so serious. Sometimes, talking to him felt like chatting with an adult, so their relationship often felt more like a friendship.noveldrama

"Mom, I really hope you get your memory back soon."
