Chapter 1754
Chapter 1754:
“I have a family doctor, I—”
Harlee cut Nathaniel off, using his great-grandson as leverage.
“Hmm? Don’t you want more quality time with Felix?” Her voice was steady, but her gaze carried a clear message.
To Nathaniel, being deprived of time with Felix was unthinkable, almost a sentence to an early grave.
“Alright, I’ll do it, okay? You always know how to make me relent!” Nathaniel grumbled. Despite his words, there was no real irritation in his tone. He was actually quite pleased that his granddaughter-in-law was so attentive to his health, and he intended to boast about it to his friends.
At the medical center, Harlee was surprised to find Serena as part of the authoritative team. Harlee hadn’t mentioned the appointment to Serena and had only arranged it that morning.
Serena approached them briskly.
“Harlee, I heard Mr. Green was scheduled for a check-up, and I had some time, so I came to help.”
“Where did you hear about it?” Harlee inquired.
Before Serena could respond, Harlee realized how the news had traveled—through Rhys and Patrick.noveldrama
“Harlee, I’ll take Mr. Green to start his tests,” Serena said, and with Harlee’s nod, she assisted Nathaniel inside.
Harlee found a comfortable sofa, sat down, and began playing games on her phone.

The check-up lasted several hours, and the initial reports indicated that Nathaniel was in excellent health, though some results would only be available the next day.
On the drive home, Nathaniel teased, “I told you I was fine and didn’t need a check-up, but you wouldn’t listen. You even used Felix to make me give in! Just wait until we get home!”
His tone was playful, and despite his feigned sternness, the corners of his mouth betrayed his cheerful mood. He appreciated Harlee’s concern deeply, aware that not many of his peers received such attention from their families.
Harlee, seeing right through him, chose to close her eyes and rest in the car, feigning ignorance. She knew Nathaniel wouldn’t hold a grudge, especially since he was so fond of Felix.
After dropping Nathaniel off at the Green family residence, Harlee drove to the Green Group’s headquarters.
Outside the building, she parked the car, turned off the engine, and texted Rhys.
“I’m downstairs at the company.”
Rhys responded promptly, despite being in a meeting about a significant partnership.
“In a meeting about an important collaboration. Do you want to come up and wait, or would you rather go to the restaurant I booked first?”
His ability to multitask was impressive. Harlee smiled softly and replied after a brief pause, “I’ll go to the restaurant and wait for you.”
Rhys quickly sent her the address.
Arriving at the restaurant, Harlee was surprised to find Rhys already there, sitting under the soft lighting, his presence distinctly composed and dignified. His face brightened with a warm smile as he saw her, and he approached quickly.
“Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?” Harlee raised an eyebrow playfully.
Rhys placed his index finger on her lips, silencing her gently.
“I’m setting up a surprise,” he whispered.
He then gallantly pulled out a chair for her, and only after she was seated did he return to his own.
As Harlee adjusted her position, tilting her head to gaze at him, the waiter began to bring out dish after dish.
“I chose a place known for its lighter dishes,” Rhys remarked, and began to expertly peel shrimp and sort vegetables for Harlee.
