Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn)

Chapter 374

Grandma Emily couldn't shake the nagging suspicion gnawing at her heart, even if she couldn't quite accept it. She shook her head, murmuring softly, trying to convince either Rose or perhaps just herself. The idea that her own

granddaughter, whom she had raised, could poison her son was unfathomable to

her.

Rose, resigned, shook her head, casting a frosty glance at Grandma Emily before turning on her heel and walking away. She made another call to the prison to arrange a visit. If her hunch was right, Lillian would be facing a new charge- attempted murder. It was time to confront her ungrateful foster daughter.

After what seemed like an eternity, the emergency room doors finally swung open. Joshua, Watson, and Javier surged forward almost in unison.

"Doctor, how's Allie?" Joshua asked.

"Doctor, what's her condition?" Watson chimed in.

"Doctor, how's my daughter doing?" Javier added.

Everyone stood there, nerves taut, hearts pounding with hope yet dreading bad news. The lead surgeon pulled off his mask, a weary smile breaking through. "The patient is out of immediate danger. She's being transferred to the ICU, and you can visit her in three days."

Relief swept through the room. Joshua's vacant eyes gained a spark of hope, and the weight on his heart lightened a bit. He closed his eyes momentarily, then opened them, speaking earnestly, "Thank you, Doctor."

The rest couldn't hold back their emotions, showering the doctor with gratitude. Particularly Javier, a man nearing fifty, sobbed until his eyes were red, his voice thick with emotion, "Thank you, Doctor, thank you so much..."

The doctor nodded and left. Allison was wheeled out by several nurses, and as Joshua watched her, pale and unconscious on the gurney, his heart twisted painfully.

Everyone wanted to get closer to Allison, but a nurse gently reminded them, "Please step back. We need to move her to the ICU, and she can't have visitors yet."

They cleared the way as the nurses took Allison to the ICU. The oppressive tension in the air fin began to dissipate. Several of the girls had cried themselves red-eyed.

Joy, her voice choked with tears, said, "I knew the heavens would look out for her.

Allison is such a good soul; she had to pull through..."

Olivia, eyes rimmed with red, sniffled, "As long as she's okay, that's all that matters."noveldrama

Sabrina took a deep breath, wiping her tears, "Thank goodness Allie's alright. I can't even bear to think of what could've happened.

Joy's nose was red from crying, "If anything had happened to Allison, I'd never forgive myself. She got hurt saving me."

Breanna, with her foot wrapped in bandages, sat on a hallway bench, her eyes equally red, "Thank goodness, thank goodness Allison's okay."

Brooklyn didn't cry; she let out a deep breath, finally relaxing her previously furrowed brow.

Shawn turned to Joshua, letting out a derisive snort, "Joshua, Allie nearly lost her life with you. Don't drag her down any more!"

Joshua said nothing. Those hours Allie spent in the emergency room were the most agonizing and guilt-ridden of his life. He couldn't argue with Shawn because he felt the same way. If it weren't for him, Allie wouldn't have been targeted by Chris. Guilt consumed him, his heart feeling like it was being relentlessly crushed and twisted, the pain

almost spasmodic.

Javier looked up at Joshua, his voice cold, "Joshua, Shawn's right. Stay away

from Allie. Stop bringing her harm."

Joshua's breath hitched, his heart clenching in agony.
