Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 877

She was absolutely livid.

Over the years, she'd come across all sorts of wives tied to the men she got involved with. Most of these women were bitter, almost needing no push from her to completely lose it. But being wealthy, they were very mindful of their reputation and terrified of the thought of their husbands leaving them. So, they'd resort to sneaky tactics in private and never dared confront her openly.

Selena, though, was a whole different story. She was the only one bold enough to throw caution to the wind, ignoring all logic and losing her temper at the drop of a hat.

Mr. Everett was already done with her, so why was she still making such a fuss?

Breanne hopped back into her chauffeured car, her assistant quickly helping tidy her up. Annoyed, she brushed the assistant's hands away, took a deep breath to calm down, and then picked up her phone to make a call.

As soon as the call went through, Breanne's bravado faded, replaced by a respectful tone.

"Mr. Abraham," she began, "I did what you asked. Looks like Selena really has moved on from Mr. Everett. Even when I showed her the compromising photo to rile her up, she barely flinched and just had me shown the door."

Abraham paused, pondering. "No reaction at all?"

"None," Breanne assured him. "I've seen plenty of wives, and you can usually tell if there's still something there for their husbands. Selena seems completely over it."

"Good work," Abraham replied. "If you need anything, just talk to Levi."

Breanne was pleased. "Thank you, Mr. Abraham."

"And those documents on Everett's indiscretions you've gathered, hand them over to Levi too."

Breanne hesitated. Honestly, it was tough not to be drawn to a guy like Everett, who was so attentive and treated her well. She couldn't help but daydream about being Mrs. Bennett. But if Everett went down, wouldn't that dream crumble?

Noticing her pause, Abraham's voice turned icy. "What's this? Second thoughts?"

Even through the phone, Breanne

felt a shiver run down her spine. Crossing Abraham wasn't an option, especially when she wasn't sure if Mr. Everett would back her against him.

Plus, if Mr. Everett found out she was working for Abraham, she'd be toast.

With that in mind, she quickly reassured him, "Mr. Abraham, I wouldn't dare. Rest easy, I'll stick to your plan."

Content, Abraham chuckled. "Remember, I can lift you up, but I can also bring you down hard. Those who cross me don't fare well."

Breanne hung up, feeling a cold sweat trickle down her back.noveldrama

Later that evening, Everett's car rolled into Moon Bay. As it stopped, Ava rushed over and swung open the back door. The kids leaped out, full of beans, and dashed towards Selena, who was waiting a little way off. sŵnovel

Each of them latched onto one of her legs, hugging her tightly.

"Mommy, I missed you so much, Mommy, Mommy..."

Their sweet little voices melted her heart. Selena knelt down and wrapped them in a hug, her eyes tearing up.

Truth be told, she was still shaken. If she had let herself spiral, getting lost in her own mind, she might never have seen her dear kids again.

Seeing his family together, Everett's heart softened. He stepped forward, ready to wrap his wife and kids in a big hug. But as he reached them, Selena looked up at him.

Her gaze was icy, chilling to the bone.
