No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 613

Noelle's scrutinizing gaze caught the fleeting guilt in Xenia's eyes. Did Xenia know something was off with PZ Group?

In their previous lives, the truth was only exposed next year when PZ Group collapsed. Right now, everyone believed PZ Group was a reputable foreign company.

Noelle could tell something was fishy. It seemed there were far too many things she'd been kept in the dark about in her past life.

Donovan approached with his men. "What scam company?"

Xenia's heart clenched as cold sweat crept down her back. She'd be doomed if Donovan found out now.

Wyatt quickly interjected, "Don't listen to Noelle's nonsense, Donovan. She's saying PZ Group is a scam company, and she's just afraid that Liddell Corporation will surpass Maple Enterprise. That's why she's making things up on purpose."

Donovan looked at Noelle thoughtfully. "Why would you say that?"

Noelle casually shrugged and found an excuse. "It's simple. PZ Group's overly simplistic name makes it sound like a fraud."

When the scandal broke in her past life, the exact same joke went viral, so Noelle remembered it well.noveldrama

Xenia finally breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Noelle's explanation. She'd been on edge and wondered how Noelle could be so aware of the truth.

She hadn't realized that the company Sean hooked up with to drain Donovan's assets was the infamous PZ Group. She'd assumed it was a legitimate and powerful enterprise, and that was why the always-suspicious Donovan hadn't doubted anything.

But Xenia knew the company was a problem.

She spoke up in a bitchy tone, "Noelle, I understand you're worried about Donovan's reinvesting, making his company a competitor to Maple Enterprise, but business competition should be fair. You can't slander PZ Group without evidence."

Wyatt chimed in, "Exactly. PZ Group is a well-known foreign company, Noelle. If you don't understand business, don't speak recklessly and embarrass yourself." Donovan turned to Noelle and said indifferently, "I'd advise you to cut ties with Maple Enterprise as soon as possible. When the company goes bankrupt, you'll be drowning in debt."

He knew she held shares in Maple Enterprise.

Noelle smirked coldly. "Back at you. Don't partner with shady companies."

She had a hunch that since Xenia was prohibited from siphoning money from the foundation, she now set her sights on the Al project, but this was beyond her capabilities alone.

It had to be Sean pulling the strings. Once again, an opportunity seemed to present itself.

Noelle walked into the venue alone, leaving Xenia gritting her teeth in frustration. She hated how the bitchy Noelle was always ruining her plans.

She quickly put on a pitiful expression and said, "Donovan, if you trust what Noelle said and start doubting PZ Group, it's best to make up your mind soon. Otherwise, we might make a fool of ourselves."

Donovan wasn't as easily fooled as the rest of the Liddells. She'd spent so much effort persuading him to work with PZ Group, and there was no way she'd want Noelle's words to shake his trust.

Donovan calmly replied, "Do you think I'd be swayed by Noelle's baseless provocation?"

He'd personally investigated PZ Group, and the Cantrell family's report confirmed no issues, so he decided to form a partnership.

Xenia's face lit up with relief. "I knew you wouldn't be deceived, Donovan. Hopefully, Wyatt can walk like a normal person once we develop the new product."

Touched, Wyatt grabbed her hand. "You're the best, Xenia."

Xenia held back her disgust and forced herself not to shake him off.

Donovan glanced at the two of them. "The adoption annulment procedures have been finalized. As long as you take good care of Wyatt, I promise there'll always be a place

for you in Liddell Corporation."

He'd initially opposed their relationship due to adoption records; it'd be a joke if word got out. But since Mia knew the truth, there was no need to keep it hidden anymore.

Since Wyatt liked Xenia, he wouldn't oppose their relationship. That was his way of compensating Wyatt.

Wyatt was elated. "Thank you, Donovan."

Xenia lowered her gaze, and a flash of hatred crossed her eyes. Why should she be forced to marry a cripple?

Sean was right. The Liddells had never treated her as one of their own.

...

The summit was packed with attendees. After making a round through the venue,

Noelle grew even more confident in Maple Enterprise's technology.
