Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 475

Jennifer's sudden appearance completely ruined Nadine's mood. Her good mood had already soured considerably after Brad had badgered her. Then, Tyler almost took advantage of her, nearly destroying her reputation.

These incidents had pushed her to her limit. And now that she had run into Jennifer, all her pent-up frustrations boiled over and made her expression harden.

Nadine looked at the woman who was supposed to be her mother with cold disdain, her expression full of contempt. Such a person was unworthy of being her mother.

There were times when she desperately wanted to sever ties with Jennifer and never speak to her again. But how could she possibly sever a bond bound by blood?

Jennifer persistently sought her out, publicly declaring that she was her daughter. Despite her desire to sever ties, it was easier said than done.

Jennifer shook her head when she heard Nadine claim her mother was dead, blocking her path. Wiping away her tears, she said, "My dear daughter, you can't mean that! No matter what, I'm still your mother.

"I brought you into this world after carrying you for ten long months, going through so much hardship in the process. How could you utter something so cruel and ungrateful?"noveldrama

She deliberately raised her voice so that everyone around could hear. With tears in her eyes, she pretended to be a loving mother. "Nadine, no matter what, you're my flesh and blood. You can't just abandon me!"

There were quite a few patients in the small garden and their family members who were looking after them, all eager to watch the drama unfold. As soon as they noticed a commotion, a crowd quickly gathered, and everyone began to throw in their two cents.

"Wait, you guys are mother and daughter? No way! You look nothing alike!"

"Please calm down, ma'am. There's no need to cry!"

Since Jennifer was older and visibly crying, it was only natural for the crowd to sympathize with her and speak up on her behalf. This emboldened Jennifer.

She suppressed the smile tugging at

her lips and continued, "I raised her for all those years, paid for her education, and now that she's working, all asked for was a little money. Not only did she refuse buť she's been avoiding me altogether. Can you believe that?"

As soon as the crowd heard her story, they turned on Nadine, unleashing a barrage of criticism.

"How can you be so ungrateful? Do you know how hard it was for your mother to raise you? Now that you're working, what's wrong with giving her a little money?"

"It wasn't easy for your mother to raise you, young lady. Now that you're working, you really ought to give her some money."

A lot of people took Jennifer's side, all acting holer-than-thou, accusing Nadine of being ungrateful.

Someone noticed just then that

Nadine was wearing a that t

uniform and threatened to call the hospital's management to show them what kind of employee they harbored.

As the situation spiraled out of control and tensions flared, Nadine felt she couldn't hold back any longer. She took a deep breath, narrowed her eyes, and glared at the people accusing her. "She's right, that's my mother."

She paused before continuing, "But I've been looking after myself since I was six. She abandoned me to marry her current husband, and ever since then, she's never once returned home to check on me.

"She claims to have worked so hard to raise me, but she never loved me or supported me financially. I worked my way through college. She had absolutely nothing to do with it.

"Now that I have a job and a steady income, she suddenly shows up and calls herself my mother. Don't you all find that absurd?" Her voice was soft but firmy causing those who had accused her earlier to flush red with embarrassment.
