Chapter 47
Killian slowly lifted his eyelids, struck by an intense headache that threatened to split his skull into halves. He rose from his bed, trying hard to recall what happened in the previous day.
All he could remember was that he was in a meeting with Jared and the elders, discussing the issue of the Alpha's murderer.
"Sara can't kill him, I am afraid she was framed by someone else." He had said to the elders in the meeting. Some agreed with him, but some were against his words.
"But we don't have any evidence to prove that she isn't the murderer!" Jared had argued against him, and Killian knew for sure that he was right. His words alone were not enough to prove that Sara was not the murderer. He needed to look for evidences, and find the true murderer.
He racked his brain to remember what happened next after Jared's opposition, but his brain was as blank as an empty space.
He glanced at the clock, and his eyes shone in astonishment. As if he couldn't believe his own eyes, he hurriedly called in one of the maids who rushed to his side.
"You called for me, my Alpha." The maid said with a slight bow.
"How long have I been asleep?" He asked the maid in a single breath, his breath moving at a very fast pace that it was enough to fan the whole room.
"Replying to the Alpha, you've been asleep for a whole day and night." The maid replied, leaving Killian in a stunned moment.
"What? How's that possible?" He muttered to himself, more like a question directed at no one in particular.
"Prepare my meal, I want to visit my Luna in the prison, I will eat once I am back." He said, oblivious of the incident that had happened the previous night.
He was surprised by the shocked expression the maid wore, he was even more shocked that she was standing on the same spot without carrying out his orders. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked in a gentle tone, but the maid hurried to her knees.
"My Alpha. It seems you have forgotten, but you ordered for the Luna's execution yesterday." The maid cautiously said, lowering her head and trying so hard to escape Killian's terrifying gaze.
"What? What the fuck was that? Do you know what you are saying?" Killian roared, his voice thundering across the whole pack house.
"How can I order for her death when she did nothing wrong?" He asked her, but the maid just lowered her head even more.
"Because she was found guilty, and you indeed order for her death." A voice said behind the door. The door creaked open and Jared walked in, holding a royal paper that the Alpha do issue out for important matters.
"Greetings, my Alpha." Jared greeted Killian, crossing his arms across his chest, and bowed slightly before him.
"What the hell are you talking about? When did I ever command you to execute her?" Killian roared, rolling his burning-red eyeballs all over Jared.
"Because you actually signed it yourself, and all of the elders have a copy each." Jared said with a mischievous smirk as he handed over the paper to him.
Killian snatched the paper and read through the contents.

Jared was right, his handwriting and his signature were perfectly inscribed on the paper, and it didn't look forged. He held his head with his hands, racking his brain harder, but he couldn't remember anything.
"I didn't write this, how come I can't remember anything about it?" Killian screamed, his eyes clouded with tears that threatened to pour out like an open dam.
"You can ask the elders, they can testify to it." Jared said with a bow, while Killian staggered, and nearly fell. He had a guess that he was manipulated, and that something was wrong somewhere.
"So where is she now, I hope you've not done anything to her!" Killian screamed, while Jared smiled. He clapped his hands and a guard walked in, holding a document in his hand.
Jared collected the paper from him, and stretched it out to Killian.
"What's this?" Killian asked, refusing to collect the document from him.
"I am afraid you might want to check it out yourself. Sara is on the loose, she escaped after confessing to her crime." Jared uttered, while Killian let out a mischievous laughter.
"That's not possible. You are kidding, right?" Killian asked with a shaky voice, but Jared just kept smiling at him, stretching out the documents and using his head to point at his hand, silently telling him to check for himself.
Killian hurriedly snatched the documents from him, and rolled his eyes on it, his heart panting heavily as he read each words.
"No, this is forged, I don't believe this. Sara can never be the murderer." Killian screamed, holding Jared by his collar as he breathed fiercely. Jared could feel his heavy breath on his face, but he just kept on smiling.noveldrama
"Even if you say the document was forged, I trust you should believe this, my Alpha." Jared muttered, dipped his hand into his pocket and took out a disc.
"This is a recording of her confessing to her crime. You can check it out yourself." He continued. Jared hurriedly snatched the disc from him, and inserted it into his system.
To his utmost shock, a video of Sara indeed popped up on the screen.
"Did you kill the elder?" Jared had asked Sara as shown by the recordings.
There sat a pale and frail Sara, staring at Jared with tearful eyes.
"I am sorry, Killian, I have offended you greatly and I am beyond redemption." Sara cried in the video, wiping her tears with her palm.
"Answer me, did you kill him?" Jared fired once again, breathing so hard that his breathings can be heard from the recording.
Sara swallowed hard, looked into Jared's eyes, and muttered;
"Yes, I killed him."
