The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1649

The Next Day.

Mirabella was up bright and early, buzzing with excitement at the thought of finally meeting Chester, who everyone seemed to be talking about. There was no room for laziness today.

After getting ready and slipping into a slightly more elegant dress, she stepped out of her room. Outside, James was already up, standing on the balcony with his phone pressed to his ear, still wrapped in his robe. He hadn't bothered changing yet.noveldrama

Mirabella gave him a quick glance before moving her gaze elsewhere, heading to the bar to grab a bottle of mineral water.

Once James finished his call, he lingered on the balcony for a moment before turning around. His eyes caught sight of Mirabella lounging around, and he walked over to her, "Up early, huh?"

Mirabella nodded, taking another sip. "You're up early too, aren't you?"

"Just what I'm used to," James said softly, his eyes lingering a moment too long on her lips.

“Oh, well, that's a good habit,” Mirabella replied, choosing to ignore the slightly suggestive look in his eyes and straightening up a bit.

James finally noticed her outfit-a light pink, Chanel-style jacket and skirt combo, her hair softly curled and cascading down her back. She looked every bit the picture of elegance and sophistication. It was quite the departure from her usual laid-back style.

However, his eyes landed on her legs, and a frown creased his forehead. "Aren't you cold?"

She looked stunning, sure, but the skirt was a tad short, drawing all kinds of attention to her long, slender legs. Even though they were going to meet the elders, James, in a serious tone, said, "I think you should change. This doesn't really fit your usual vibe."

Mirabella, clueless about his train of thought, glanced down at her outfit, puzzled. "Isn't it nice?"

She figured the elders would appreciate the demure, ladylike look.

James shook his head, "It's not that it's bad. Actually, what you had on yesterday was pretty nice."

Mirabella's lips twitched in disbelief. "You're suggesting I wear our Prestige College uniform to meet them?"

James: "..."

Awkward silence.

Mirabella decided she'd heard enough of his fashion advice, shook her head, and turned to leave.

James cleared his throat awkwardly.

Just then, the doorbell rang. It was Wyatt, delivering some items.

As Wyatt stepped in, he was met with James' rather blank expression. "Is this a bad time?"

"James?" Wyatt handed over the breakfast and a paper bag with clothes.

James took them and promptly shut the door, leaving Wyatt standing outside, scratching his head in confusion.

At nine, Grady arrived at the hotel to pick up

family. Since the Davis

was quite a distance

away, he'd arranged for a private jet to fly them over.

Mirabella watched the blue sky and fluffy clouds pass by outside the window, feeling a bit nervous, but her calm demeanor gave nothing away.

Grady handed her a glass of freshly squeezed juice and sat across from her,

smiling. "Chester's going to be thrilled today."

After mentioning this to Keir on the

phone last night, Grady noticed a change in Keir's tone-a mix of nostalgia and nerves. It had been a while since Grady had seen Ke like

that, making him both happy and a bit surprised.
