The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)

Chapter 554 A Blade for Revenge

Sheldon sat in the hospital room without any intention of leaving. Kenton paid no mind to his presence. He continued tormenting Yvette however he saw fit.

Unable to endure the suffering any longer, Yvette begged for mercy. "Kenton, I was wrong to you in the past, but I've never been stingy with what I gave you or Grace. How could you do this to me now? Aren't you afraid of karma?"

Kenton chuckled. "Yvette, I'll give you a piece of advice. Every cause has an effect. Your retribution is me. When you made me beat my wife, did you ever think you'd end up in my hands one day?"

He no longer wore his mask, leaving the grotesque scars on half of his face fully exposed.

Yvette couldn't bring herself to look at him, for the scars were too unsightly. She knew exactly how they had come to be.

"Yvette, just you wait. Lina is already on her way."

Kenton smiled faintly and opened his phone, showing Yvette the conversation with Lina. "Look, she didn't even need two days. She replied in two minutes. She's already on her way from Scarlet Hill to kill you.

"Before she gets here, I'll take good care of Charlene, keep her safe and

comfortable. Then, once Lina finishes you off, I'll let Charlene escape. Oh, by the way, I'll make sure she just happens to get into a car crash."

Kenton grinned. "Just imagine that scene. Isn't it beautiful?"

Yvette's face turned pale with anger. "How dare you? How dare you do this? Charlene is just a child!"

Fury overtook Yvette, and with a choked gasp, she coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Charlene is a child? What about Ms. Walker and Selena, whom you had switched out? Were they not just children too?" Kenton mocked. "Besides, Charlene isn't even your real granddaughter. She doesn't share a drop of your blood, so why are you getting so worked up?"

Yvette clutched her chest, unable to utter a single word. Her face had turned deathly pale, and as her emotions surged, the Umbrahex inside her erupted.

A searing pain shot through her body as if countless blades were tearing her apart from the inside. She curled up instinctively, digging her nails deep into her palms.

"Yvette, your hair is starting to turn white," Kenton remarked. "Laura endured this for years, but lucky for you, you have a terminal illness. You won't have to suffer for quite as long."

He clicked his tongue in mock pity. "What a shame. Your retribution is far too short."

With that, he lifted a large mirror and placed it right in front of her.

"Look, Yvette. Look at what you've become. This is a result of your own tricks, turned back on you. How does it feel?"

He let out a hoarse chuckle. "You don't need to say anything-I already know. It must feel absolutely amazing."noveldrama

Yvette let out a gut-wrenching scream. "It hurts! It hurts so much!"

She stared into the mirror, watching in horror as her hair rapidly turned white, while her skin thinned and turned translucent. Umbrahex writhed within her, slithering under her flesh like living shadows, but the physical agony was nothing compared to the torment clawing at her mind.

She knew this suffering all too well. Laura had endured it for years, and she had seen every stage of it.

Now, it was her turn to endure it.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Kenton added with a smirk. "Wesley's already back in Dithoria, searching for Cassie. If he finds out you're behind all of this, what do you think will happen? How many more people do you think will come for revenge?"

"It hurts!" Yvette could do nothing but scream in agony.

"Sheldon, are you satisfied with all this?" Kenton asked, glancing at Sheldon, who was seated on the couch.

Sheldon smirked and stood up. "Not quite. You take care of the rest."

"Okay," Kenton replied.

"I'm leaving," Sheldon said, turning to leave.

"I'll walk you out," Kenton offered, following him to the door.

Once Sheldon's figure disappeared down the corridor, Kenton stepped aside to make a phone call. After that, he returned to the room.

"Enjoy yourself, Yvette," he said with a smirk, throwing himself onto the couch. "Now, we just wait for Lina. Oh, and my wife will be coming too. She's suffered a lot because of you over the years. You owe her, and it's time you paid your debt."

"It hurts!"

Yvette convulsed on the hospital bed before falling to the ground with a heavy thud. She writhed on the cold floor, clutching her body as the torment consumed her.

Kenton watched coldly as she twisted in agony.

This was only the beginning. If Yvette was going to die, it wouldn't be an easy death. She had to suffer.

Sins weren't so easily atoned for.

Kenton pulled out his phone, checking the message from the number he had just dialed.

"We want Charlene. Name your price."

A cruel smile crept onto his lips. He didn't reply right away. Instead, he let Yvette sink deeper into her agony before finally retrieving a small pill and forcing it into her mouth.

"Yvette," he began. "Victor and Diana are offering a price for Charlene. Should I sell her to them? After all, Selena was treated like a commodity, passed from one hand to another. Every bit of suffering she endured was real.

"The Holden and Walker families are working with the authorities to crack down on human trafficking. Selena's past was nothing short of tragic, so why not put Charlene in the spotlight? Let her be the bait that lures the traffickers out of the shadows."

The moment the pill slid down her throat, the searing pain in Yvette's body subsided slightly, and for a brief moment, her mind cleared.

Upon hearing Kenton's words, Yvette's eyes widened, blazing with fury, and she looked as if she wanted to rip him to shreds.

"You're part of this too," she snarled. "By doing this, do you think you can escape?"

"Escape?" Kenton sneered. "I was forced into this. I'm turning myself into a

witness for the prosecution. I've gathered so much evidence, Yvette. I've been waiting for this day."

Then, he leaned in close to her ear

and whispered, "Do you really think I

ff

lured Lina bere because I wasn't sure she'd come? You're wrong f she hadn't, Marcus' people would never have caught her. And don't even bring up the authorities. They've tried again and again, but Lina always found out beforehand and slipped away."

He let out a low chuckle. "Just wait, Yvette. Whether it's you, Lina, or Charlene, none of you will escape. I'm not running. I've been your loyal dog for years, waiting for this moment. Now, I'll be the one to deliver you and Lina to the law."

"I'll tell you where Megan is. Just let Lina and Charlene go," Yvette said through gritted teeth, fighting

against the pain. "Don't you and net

Grace want to bring Megan back? I'll give you her location if you let them go. Is that okay? Please, Kenton, just this once."

"It's too late," Kenton said with a faint smile. "Grace and I do want to find Megan, but after all these years with you, who knows what she's become? What if she sees you as her mother? What if she ends up hating me and my sister? It's better to leave things as it is."

"Kenton, you really are a good dog," Yvette spat, wiping the blood from the corner

of her mouth. "You sure know how to bite the hand that feeds you." "You're wrong," Kenton said with a smile. "Weren't you the one who once praised

me as the perfect blade you forged? Now that this blade has stabbed you in the back, doesn't that still make it perfect? Yvette, you've succeeded."

He threw his head back and laughed.
