Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 1410

Chapter 1410:

Lilyana was frozen in place, her mind spinning.

She had never once considered that Calan saw her as anything more than a friend. Not even for a moment.

But now… now that he said it—saying he liked her—she realized something. She wasn’t repulsed by it. And when she met his eyes, filled with a melancholy warmth, she found that the words of rejection wouldn’t come.

Lilyana parted her lips, ready to give Calan her answer, but before she could speak, he suddenly recalled Collier’s words.

Lilyana hadn’t quite developed a romantic mindset yet. He could confess his feelings, but he needed to give her time—time to process, to adjust, and to truly understand before expecting any kind of response. So, Calan spoke first. “I know this is a lot to take in all at once. You don’t have to answer me right now. Just take your time, think it over, and let my sincerity speak for itself. But don’t reject me right away, okay?”

Lilyana, who had been just about to say yes, fell silent.

She shut her mouth and looked at him, weighing his words. Since he wasn’t in a rush for an answer, it would be wiser to wait. That way, she could test the waters with her parents first and see how they felt about Calan.

After the college entrance exams, Lilyana and Calan chose to attend the same university—she majored in finance, while he pursued law. Time flew by quickly, and on the day after Lilyana’s 18th birthday celebration, she finally gave Calan her answer.

They confessed their love for each other that night and made a promise—to get engaged in a year.

Madisyn and Andrew, along with Calan’s parents, all knew about their relationship.

Calan’s parents, living abroad, met Lilyana over a video call. The moment they met the girl who had influenced their son so profoundly, they took an instant liking to her. They expressed their gratitude, showered her with heartfelt blessings, and even sent gifts from afar.

Madisyn and Andrew had watched Calan grow up alongside their children. They had long seen the care he had for Lilyana and trusted him as a good man.

Because of his upbringing, Calan had a different perspective on certain things. He was so open-minded that he even suggested moving into Lilyana’s home after marrying her.

After graduating, Lilyana took on the heavy responsibility of running the Klein Group, while Calan built his own law firm. Within a few years, he made a name for himself as one of the country’s most sought-after lawyers—never losing a single case.

Their careers thrived, their relationship remained steady, and their lives were peaceful and content. Not long after, Collier entered university.noveldrama

Like his sister, he began working on Klein Group projects while still in school. But Collier had a vastly different style from Lilyana. He wasn’t one to oversee every detail or keep everything in order. Rather than handling the company’s affairs from the top, he preferred forging partnerships and expanding opportunities. So the moment he joined the company, he made his intentions clear—he requested a transfer from the management department to marketing.

Madisyn watched her son, who was constantly hopping from one event to another, rarely ever home, and sighed in resignation. “Son, you and your sister both studied finance and management. Your father and I sent you to the company so you could help lighten your sister’s burden. But instead, you went straight to marketing on your very first day and have rarely been home after that.”
