Chapter 982
Initially, Lucas was skeptical. He couldn't wrap his mind around it. But after several attempts to jog her memory, he realized Chloe had genuinely lost her memory—completely and inexplicably. It wasn't just him she'd forgotten; she didn't even know who she was anymore. Her entire past was wiped clean-people, events, even language. Her mind was a blank slate, as if she'd reverted to the curiosity of a newborn.noveldrama
That's when a daring thought crossed Lucas's mind. He wrestled with it for days before finally going through with it. He crafted a new identity for Chloe, posing her as an English woman. Together, they moved to a picturesque English village. He began teaching her English, and they settled into their new life.
He told Chloe they were married and had a child. He gave her a new name— Rose. He became Grayson, and their child was Aaron. Even though Chloe was like a clean canvas, she quickly adapted. Within a year, she was fluent in English and comfortable in her new surroundings. By the second year, she had even opened a quaint flower shop in the village.
The Moncada family knew Lucas had relocated to England and married an English woman. But they never saw her, not even in a photograph. Lucas kept them at a distance, refusing any visits. However, he did bring over Summer, who attended school there. The Moncada family was convinced he intended to stay in England permanently.
"Dinner's ready!" Chloe announced, stepping out from the kitchen. The table was laden with typical English comfort food: Yorkshire pudding, roast chicken, grilled fish, fish and chips, and a hearty vegetable soup. Although straightforward to prepare, Chloe's roast chicken was a tad burnt, and the Yorkshire pudding was a bit off. Cooking had never been her strong suit.
She remembered losing her memory after a car accident during a trip to Country M. In recovery, she picked up new skills swiftly-except cooking, which remained a challenge. Today's meal was actually one of her better attempts.
The three of them sat down. Chloe, speaking in English, urged, "Give it a try." Lucas took a bite of the Yorkshire pudding, swallowed it with some effort, and declared, "It's delicious." Summer sampled it too and commented seriously, "Mom, it's too salty."
Lucas turned to Summer, "Aaron, whatever your mom makes is the best."
Chloe tasted it herself; it was indeed too salty. The roast chicken wasn't
much better. With a sigh,?
admitted, "My cooking still needs work."
"Maybe skip it," she suggested. But Lucas, eating with gusto, countered, "It's fantastic; anything you make is a treat."
Chloe chuckled, "Thanks, darling." After dinner, Lucas, ever the diligent one, cleared the table.
Later, as Chloe read Summer a
bedtime story, Lucas brought in and fruit. Chloe suddenly
remembered, "Your birthdaelbet
is in
two days. Got any plans?"
Lucas mused, "Like always, let's go to the Golden Moon Spa Hotel."
Golden Moon, a serene spa hotel at the village's edge, was their go-to for Chloe e nodded

in agreement, "Sounds perfect."
After setting down the fruit, Lucas advised, "Get some rest, both of you." He left
the room for his own, next door.
Curiously, Summer asked, "Mom, why doesn't Dad ever sleep with us?"
What do you think?
